I was born and raised in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. At the tender age of 17, I joined the Canadian Armed Services, where I served this great country for 4 years. After life in the Armed forces. I raised my four boys and did everything from driving a cab to private security. I knew I was destined for a career in law enforcement. In 2008, I joined Sheriff Service, where I had a rewarding career for 14 years. At the end of 2020, I moved from Cole Harbour to Truro to live with my soon to be wife Tammy. Not only did I leave a place I’ve known my entire life, but my career also moved to a new location. I still wanted more. So, I took a chance and decided to join the brave men and woman of the Truro fire brigade. Turns out, it was the best decision of my life. It gave me the confidence to pursue another goal of mine, and that was to work and be a part of the Emergency Health Services team. I am very proud to serve alongside the best first responders there are. And the support I have received from my fellow firefighters goes beyond anything thing I have ever known. As of June 2023. I have received my black hat; I am a medical first responder and now a firefighter/engineer.

I am living proof that age is just a number, it does not render your ability to live your dreams and reach your goals in life.
